Embassy Suites by Hilton Westerville

Gesika Gets Out Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

With time running out and our cruise fast approaching, I took the recommendation from friends and rented a suite at the local Embassy Suites Hotel, which has an in-ground, indoor heated pool. At my daughter’s request, we are doing a Paris theme, with 3 other friends spending the night. I used Amazon to help with some decorations that wouldn’t make a mess

Checking In

Check-in was a breeze but came with heavy warning, anyone having a party would be fined $200 additional on the room cost AND an additional cleaning fee if required. I confirmed with the front desk manager we could blow up balloons only and set up a small “tea party” for the girls. No issues. There was also a $150 deposit, but that’s normal for most hotels.

After quickly answering my questions and locating the pool, we went off to find our room. I booked a suite with a double queen, and pull-out sofa. My daughter invited 3 friends to sleep over and another mom would be joining us. We had lots of room to stretch out. Total cost, $165 plus taxes.

All reservations at Embassy Suites included: free made to order (hot) breakfast, complimentary evening reception, free parking, free wifi and non-smoking rooms. The facility also had an indoor and outdoor pool, fitness center, business center and pet friendly rooms upon request.

The Room

The room included a mini kitchen, a full bathroom, a nice living room area where the fold out couch was, and the bedroom was sectioned off with a door that closed.

With the help of the staff, I got some real glassware to set-up afternoon tea for the girls before we headed to the pool.

The Fun Bonus Items

As I mentioned, the hotel had a nightly reception. This was such a wonderful surprise for everyone involved. In the main area/restaurant space, the hotel put out complimentary snacks (limited cheese, chips, pita, hummus, some fruit and veggies) and offered an open bar for 2 hours!

The pool was a nice touch for the kids but was very small and was extremely crowded the entire time without any supervision from most parents or anyone from the hotel. I choose not to swim because the chlorine was strong enough in the air to clear my sinuses, but the kids seemed unfazed and really enjoyed having it onsite.

Conclusion

Overall great experience. We made sure to clean the room before leaving to prevent any extra charges. Would recommend for a fun local stay or for out of town guests
